Network Settings
To configure Notes PP 'Network settings':
|
Notes: You should restart the program to apply 'Network Settings'
|
|
Double-click on Notes PP desktop icon and select 'Properties -> Administrative tools'.
Click 'Network settings'.

Specify how you want the program receives notes
- To receive all incoming notes, select 'Receive all notes'.
- If you want the program asks whether you want to receive note every time somebody sends you a note, select 'Ask for receiving notes'
- If you do not want to receive any notes, select 'Deny incoming notes'. In this case the program doesn't listen to the specified port (by default port 905)
If you wish, the program plays beep when a note is received, put the check mark next to 'Beep when receive note'.
Use Net Send if can't send notes
If a friend you want to send a note to doesn't have Notes PP or another MoRUN.net program or the program on the recipient computer is not running, you can put the check mark next to 'Use Net Send if can't send notes' option to send a note as a message using Net Send. The Net Send utility is used to send messages to other users/computers on the network. Sender must have Windows NT/2000/XP or later platforms to use this feature. Recipient must have Messenger service started (for Windows NT/2000/XP) or running WinPop program on Windows 95/98/Me. For more information about Net Send click here
Notes PP listens to port 905 by default
If you change port number, you need to provide your friends with new port number so they use it while sending notes to you.
To start Messenger service:
Click the 'Start' button and select [All] Programs.
Select Administrative Tools | Computer Management.
Select Services and Applications | Services.
Select 'Messenger' from the list of services, right-click on it and select 'Start'.
If you want 'Messenger' service starts automatically every time you start Windows, select 'Properties', open 'General' folder, in 'Startup type' field select 'Automatic' and click 'OK'.
