Sending Notes over LAN
How to send note over LAN:
|
Note:
To receive notes, recipients must have Secure Reminder or another MoRUN.net program installed and running on their computers.
Receiving notes is not available on Windows 95/98/ME.
|
|
Go to the note you want to send.
Right-click the note and select 'Send note' item from the context menu.
Put the radio button for 'Send Note over LAN or Internet' option.
Select if you want to send note via IP address or PC Name
|
 Send notes via IP address
|
 Send notes via PC name
|
|
Enter the recipient IP address or computer's name to direct a note to a specific computer in LAN.
How to enter recipient information:
Select recipient information from Address Book
use Select PC in LAN option to easily select recipient information from full list of PCs in your LAN
enter recipient information manually
To receive notes Secure Reminder uses port 905 by default. If recipient has changed program's listening port in 'Network Setting', you must specify the current port number the recipient is using.
|
|
|
Click 'Send' button.
|
Notes:
If recipient doesn't have Secure Reminder or another MoRUN.net program or the program on the recipient computer is not running, you can put the check mark next to "Use Net Send if can't send notes" option in Administrative Tools to send a note as a Net Send message. The Net Send utility is used to send messages to other users/computers on the network.
For more information about Net Send click here
Using Secure Reminder you can send notes with different alarm actions (except 'Play sound', 'Run program/Open file or url', 'Shut down Windows').
Some features such as 'Associate note with file/program/window', 'attach file to note', 'background image' can be sent only as parameters.
Received notes are placed to the same Notes Group and/or under the same user (if such Notes Group and/or user exists on the recipient computer).
If there is only the same Notes Group (for example 'Contact'), received note will be placed to 'Contact' Notes Group under the Guest account (user).
Only if there is only the same user, received note will be placed to the Main notes group under the necessary account (user).
If received note was created for example in Notes Group 'Address' under 'User1' account but there is no such Notes Group and account on the recipient computer, received note will be placed to the Main notes group under the Guest account (user).
If your product or product version doesn't support some features available in the receiving note, these features will be ignored.

If you have trouble sending or receiving notes, please read Send/Receive Notes Troubleshooting section.
