How to set a popup reminder in Windows 7/Vista/Windows XP
With Secure Reminder managing your daily tasks and planning important events becomes really easy. Just create a list of popup reminders once and never miss an important date and event again. The popup reminder will appear on your desktop to inform you about umcoming dates and events.
Depending on your needs, you can set a one-time or recurring popup reminder which will inform you about the approaching dates and events and other important matters without interrupting your work.
How to set a popup reminder in Windows 7/Vista/Windows XP
- Download Secure Reminder and install it on your computer.
- Double-click the Secure Reminder desktop icon to run the program. When you run Secure Reminder first time, you should select the security level and set the admin password (you could select any password you like)
- Press Ctrl+ALt+N to create a new reminder not, then right-click on it and select 'Settings ->Alarm set'.
- Check Alarm on and then the 'Reminder' option.
- Set the date and time when you want the reminder to popup.
If you need to set a recurring reminder, select the 'Repeat' option and select one of the following options
repeat the reminder the set number of times at regular intervals
Select the 'Repeat times' option and set the number of times and a time interval
repeat the reminder constantly at regular intervals
Select the 'Constantly' option and set a time interval
- Choose the reminder actions - you could set a popup reminder, flash reminder, choose to read your reminder note, play beep, play *.wav file, run program/open file or url, Shut Down Windows) and click OK.
If you wish to remove the popup reminder, just right-click the popup reminder you need to remove, open the 'Alarm settings' window and uncheck the 'Alarm on' option.
If you need to modify your popup reminder, just open the 'Alarm Settings' window and make changes
To stop the popup reminder, you should click on the 'Reminder' icon in the upper left hand corner or double-click note's body
How to stick a popup reminder to files
To simlify your work, you can associate a popup reminder with the necessary files (it could be word documents, pdf file, etc). So each time you open the file, the reminder note popupa on your desktop.
• Right-click on the popup reminder and select Links -> Associate with files.
• Choose the file (*.doc, *.xls, *.pdf) you want to associate the popup reminder with and click Open.
